Vb Japan DMC designs and operates Japan programmes for travel agencies abroad. Their clients need guides who know the ground and speak their language. If that is you, register once and we will contact you when a tour fits your region and languages.
Guides we work with
Licensed and interpreter guides
National licensed guide-interpreters, regional licensed guides and interpreter guides. Your licence status is recorded so you are only offered work that fits it.
Any language you guide in
Our agency partners send travellers from many countries, so English and every other language you guide in well are worth registering.
Wherever you are based
We operate across Japan, with regular need in Kansai, Kanto, Hokkaido and Kyushu. Engagements are freelance and seasonal.
From sign-up to your first tour
- Register online. One form: your languages, licence, the regions you cover, your day rate, a photo and references.
- We review your details. Our operations team reads every registration and may get in touch with questions.
- We contact you when a tour fits. When a programme needs a guide in your region and language, we send you the dates and the itinerary by WhatsApp or email.
- You decide. Each tour is offered separately. You accept the ones that suit you; registering does not commit you to anything.
What to have ready
- The languages you guide in, and your level in each
- Your licence number and a photo or PDF of the licence, if you hold one
- The cities and regions you cover, and your usual day rate in yen
- A profile photo, a short bio and one or two references
Guides: common questions
Does it cost anything to register?
No. Registering is free, and there is nothing to pay at any stage. We are looking for guides to work with, not selling anything to guides.
Do I need a national guide licence?
No. Licensed national guide-interpreters, regional licensed guides and interpreter guides can all register. Tell us your licence status on the form so we only offer you work that fits it.
Which languages do you need?
Any language you guide in well. Our clients are travel agencies from many source markets, so we register guides in every language and note each one's level.
What happens after I register?
Our team reviews your details. When a tour comes up in your region and language, we contact you by WhatsApp or email with the dates and programme, and you decide whether to take it.
How do I update or delete my details?
Write to [email protected] from the email you registered with. We update or delete your details on request, including any photo or licence copy you uploaded.
